New year is a time for being positive, looking forward and not backwards – but I thought it might be fun to look back at 2010 and see what I achieved! Whilst I’m not as prolific as others on the internet, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how productive I have been.
My 2010 statistics:
Christmas stockings: 4
Clutch Bag: 1
Total: 22 Items – Not bad for a beginner really!
Biggest achievement? Learning how to make a welt pocket!
Finishing this Oliver & S coat for my nephew whilst suffering a painful break up.
Favourite item? I feel I should say the Trench coat because it took so much time and effort and I love the fabric…
However this Mango Knock off Dress is a close second (I do love dresses!)
Major sewing extravagance – Trading in my old sewing machine for a Bernina which I absolutely adore.
Non sewing related achievements – I gave up chocolate until Lent in 2010 – I’m quite chuffed with that… Unfortunately I traded this off with eating more non chocolate containing confectionery – erm which was not the original intention!
I’m a firm believer in making resolutions for the new year whether or not you keep them, I still like having something to aim for even though sometimes they are just not very realistic!
So for 2011:
- I’m hoping to cut down on my fabric stash – use up as much as I can of what I already have before rushing off impulsively and buying more fabric.
- I would like to make a leather jacket.
- I would like to finish my lingerie course.
- I would like to be more patient when I finish garments, pay more care and attention to the fit and finish of things.
And I’d like to wish everybody a happy, healthy and productive 2011 too!
