The ‘Hello Sunshine’ Dress

If I’m smiling like an insane woman in this photo, it’s because it was absolutely freezing and I was wondering if the builders at the back could see me taking photos of myself? And then wondering if they thought I was mad dressed in a summery dress and sunglasses in the middle of winter, because I definitely thought that I was! If it wasn’t for ¬†Sew Weekly and this week’s theme of Down Under, I definitely would have been wearing a lot more!

I made up Cynthia Rowley’s Simplicity 2250. Thankfully it was a fairly easy make for me this week as I had cut this out last summer then put it away as I ran out of time over summer. I used a Lilac Liberty ‘Capel’ Cotton Lawn and a white silk/cotton blend for the bodice lining – both from my stash. I added the grey ribbon as a belt for the photos, that’s also from my stash (it came with a bale of towels weirdly!)

I’m not sure if I’ll make this again as I’m not sure if it’s really my style. I will definitely wear it again though but only when the weather warms up!
