June Sew Along Challenge – The Fabrics!

Here’s a sneak peek of the fabrics that I’ll be using – I’m desperately trying to decrease the size of my fabric stash (to make way for new items of course!! – more on that soon), so the majority of fabrics I’m using are from there…

(You can view my dress choices here)

White Swiss Dotted Cotton (Goldhawk Road) for the Burda 101 dress:

I’ve never used dotted Swiss before, so this may sound like a stupid question but is the right side the really textured side or the flatter side?

Liberty Cotton Lawn (Fabrics Galore) for the Simplicity 2250 dress:

Liberty Cotton Poplin (Fabrics Galore) – This is the fabric that I have been terrified of cutting into… for a very long time! – for the Vogue 1174 dress:

And finally a Navy Blue Silk Cotton Mix (Fabrics Galore) – which is lovely and lightweight… I’ve decided this will be a lining now as it is too lightweight and sheer. Because this is a strapless dress, I’m just not sure that the material will be strong enough. I’ll be heading down to my favourite shop this Saturday to find something to go with it though!

(In real life this blue is much darker – a really dark navy blue – but it’s a very difficult colour to photograph!)

I absolutely love your fabric choices! The Liberty print fabrics are really nice, I can understand why you have a hard time cutting into the one with the red roses. But do it and you’ll have a lovely dress!
