Burda & Knipmode July Round Up

Just got back from my trip to Holland where I bought the latest issues of Burda and Knipmode and there were some lovely things that I would love to make someday!!

Sadly I did not make it to Kantje Boord in Amsterdam – But I did investigate the Hague for fabric shops and came away with nothing!! I honestly couldn’t believe it, firstly I only found one fabric shop in the centre and the selection wasn’t particularly inspiring. So if you know the Hague and I’m completely wrong, let me know!!

Anyway, on with the round up. From Burda July:

This very sexy summer dress – Like an LBD but in a different colour… What do you call that I wonder?

This lovely summery dress with ruching – perfect for the beach or after beach partying:

I love this skirt!!! I love the ruching and that it is made from Jersey, so easy to wear. Although I would make it in the longer version.

Same skirt but longer and in Chiffon/Tulle:

Gorgeous trousers! I have loved these ever since I saw them featured on the Selfish Seamstress’ blog:

My mum loves the look of this cushion and it looks so easy to make!

From Knipmode:

A really adorable day dress – but why can I never find nice print jersey!!!

I am loving the coral colour – it’s such a now colour and being half Dutch, it’s a little patriotic! I love the shirt, not so keen on the skirt but am assured that circle skirts are in this A/W 2010 according to this month’s InStyle magazine no less…

I like dresses, A LOT. Hence, my next selection, surprise surprise is a dress:

Hope you enjoyed my little foray into this month’s Knipmode and Burda. If you want to see more, have a look at Selfish Seamstress who as usual has discovered Burda’s latest August offerings!

The first dress you covered from the Burda, I really, really want to sew that. But it needs a regular knit and a lighter version in the same colour (like a tulle/ chiffon knit) and that has been nigh on impossible to find XS. Might have to bite the bullet and do it in contrasting/ supporting colours.
